Parts are getting hard to find for that machine - like many other older units. On that HD3 as well as 653 and 655 parts will also work
Might be further ahead finding a newer machine , even parts for my FD5 Fiat-Allis took some digging to come up with track and sprockets. Parts for a HD5 are also scares when it comes to undercarriage, other parts are out there for most machines but takes some searching. Edited by Coke-in-MN - 05 Nov 2013 at 1:14am |

So what allis or fiat allis dozer would you recommend? Needs to have a 6 way also.
Most of the work will be clearing a lot and I may use it to do some side stuff.

I have a FD5 which is 72 HP - 6 way blade and power shift. pedal steer, machine but cost is going to be higher than H 4 machine .
Newer machines have a lot of advantages, but i wonder if all brands add up to a good deal .. Older JD machines I tried out were not up to older AC machines that were 20 years older. Depending on what area of country you're in will depend on what machines are around for sale, and if dealers in area do not have good service - that brand will not have good reputation. Like here Cat and Case were big in some trades, were Ford backhoes were real common. |
