Hello people!

I have a Tractomotive TL12D With a Buda 6da-273 engine in it. I bought it and it had a broken hydraulic head.
Over a year later (now) i finally found a used American Bosch PSB6 pump that i finally got pumping diesel through the injector outlets. A hard one to bleed. I almost gave up :P.

Anyways... Does anyone know the firing order on this engine? I have a manual for a d262 where the firing order was said to be 1-5-3-6-2-4, but when I installed the lines, it felt like i had to use more force to get them to fit. I am not sure about the firing order...

One more thing... It does not puff any smoke. I have bled it until diesel was coming out at the injector side of the lines. I may also add that it might be time to give it a starter overhaul. It sounds... not healthy. Dont know the word in english... Scraping? It also seems to use a lot of battery when cranking, and jumper cables get really hot pretty fast.

So... First post here =). Be nice to me ;)

Sincerely //Robert, Sweden

All inline 6-cylinder engines (to my knowledge) are 1-5-3-6-2-4. When cranking, you should be able to hear the injector nozzles 'chirping' from the fuel being pumped through them.
Are you sure the pump is correct for your application? There are many, many different setups and even differences of PSB6 pumps.
If the hydraulic head on the pump is worn, it might not pump at low cranking speed. Any way to pull start it?

Got your timing right and not 180 degree off?

A point of caution is that when you have to stress the lines to get them on, harmonics will cause them to crack eventually. Bending them a little is okay. Just make sure they are in a relaxed position and put them straight on. Leon R Mo

Thanks guys for the replies!
I took off the valve cover today and inspected the intake valves, and they were opening in the 1-5-3-6-2-4 order. I also removed two of the injectors to make sure that the pump was building pressure enough to spray through them which they did. At the same time as the diesel came out of the injector, there was a quite big flow of air coming out of the injector holes, so i guess that it is right and not 180 degrees wrong.
this engine has not been started for quite a while, and it had stuck a little but i managed to get it loose and spinning. Took off the exhaust/intake manifolds and squirted oil straight on the valves and opened them manually from under the valve cover.

I changed one of the bushings in the starter today as well and it got more speed from it...
I guess that compression is not quite where it should be yet. Might be some crap at the rings but my hope is to get it to fire a little and that it will get better then.
I also must add that it wants to start with ether. It puffs and smokes, but i was low on battery power and all out of ether so I could not get it going long enough to start igniting the diesel fuel. Bad ether bottle as well. The valve was spraying everywhere :P.

It is not possible to pullstart it. It is a hydraulic converter and shuttle shift gearbox.

You can see pictures here: http://www.maskinisten.net/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=32255&lv=1&sid=f2dfca0a20a8af77b832ccb1f323015e and if you are familiar with the swedish language or google translate, you can have a read :P.

Edit: The injection pump is coming from an old allis chalmers road grader and it has about the same specs as the old pump. Just slightly lower rpms on top.
If i wanted, I could take the hydraulic head and lift pump from this pump and put on my old pump to get it where it should be, but no... I am too darn close now ;)

Edit 2: I bent the lines so that they would be fairly easy to assemble. Not much tensions, but they do look like crap though.
