Steve, what's the weight on yours? I can get a 11B here for $18000 US but is missing a few guards on the rail trucks. What issues are most prevalent on these?
Is listed in Contractors Hotline under crawler tractors as a '74 with recent trans work. Man in Salem MO, Mike Smith. He also has a 14C for $24xxx with newer SALT rails. What engine are these? What pitch rails, parts any harder than my 7G to get? Dave

THe 11B was made in SPringfield Illinois, the 14C was built in Italy.

DMiller-
Some of the issues with these 11's have been discussed on earlier forum posts. Loose accessory drive bearings and vibration dampers that have fallen apart are common on these machines. Breaking #1 injection line is first sign of bad damper, breaking crankshaft is bigger sign! Another thing- if the machine won't push until it's hot, could be a sign of worn clutches in transmission. Any used machine is a gamble, but these tractors were made as good as any, and for the most part, pretty good to work on. Of course, the power shift models are much "busier" under the floor plates than the standard shift...

No muffler- she's a '74, has the old P Bosch pump on 'er. We used to have a later one, a '76, which had the muffler originally, and had the MK2 engine. Kind of have seller's remorse, but oh, well...
This one I picked up sight unseen at auction this summer, haven't used it much yet. I bought it real cheap because it had a bad oil leak on the converter, the old man thought he had a serious torque converter problem, and would not let them run it at the auction. He just about had a cow when I told him after the auction that there was supposed to be oil in the converter housing, and offered to buy it back. Turns out the starter was just loose, there is nothing wrong with the converter. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I called the old man up before the auction and asked him what he thought the machine was worth- "well", he said, "I won't let it go for less than $5000", so that is what I bid, $5100.

Was probably a 60/40 mix of bull vs angle blades on the 3 tractor brands [D6 HD11 TD15] in that size sold here. HD6/D4 size was 99% all angleblades. Each has advantages/disadvantages. Actually have both for my D6D. But neither will ever get to push that 'funny' white stuff
![]() Merry Christmas to all on here. Merv

Tractor came with bull blade, but we put this angle dozer on it for snow. The angle dozer was very popular in western Canada, it's the only way to go for plowing snow.
Yes, and Merry Christmas right back at you all!

Hi Ian; yeah this global warming is a myth down here. But cooling yes weather patterns do seem cooler here. and maybe wetter too. Cooler, we can always put on more clothes; hot you can only take so much off. But is good for the girls who like there bikinis tho; and good for us who like the girls in there bikinis

HD6 Merv,
I once heard this description that
"a bikini is like a barbed wire fence - protects the property without obstructing the view"
