I have a 180 power director valve that I cannot seem to get the spool to come out. It is stuck pretty good. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the inner spool out?

Thanks in advance

Do you mean the one the shifter is hooked to or the pressure regulator?    MACK

Mack,  The valve that is connected to the handle to switch from High to Low. I have removed the valve and tried to remove the inner spool. The little plunger with the spring comes out but the upper most portion (cup) will not come out. I have tried soaking it for days. I was thinking of drilling a small hole inline with it and pushing it out that way then tapping and plugging the hole. The tractor stays in High even if you shift to low.

thanks for the reply

Just find yourself a used valve from a 180 or 185.
