 Topic: Phrases often heard while looking to buy a tractor

"needs a starter"......this is a common one, and usually means the engine is locked up. "ran when parked".........yeah, right, so did the Titanic. "needs a tune-up"..........almost assuredly has a burnt valve. "don't know much about it, but........" this one speaks for itself.

just needs air in one tire = tire is rotted away and the other rim is rusted out

My Massey 65 was like that when I bought it....add air to the tire and watch the water squirt out from all the holes in the rim.

Always good is ‘Recently Overhauled’ as has a fresh coat of Dupont. Engine smokes and or misses or leaks all over.

Or they rolled in new rods and mains and it makes good oil pressure for about the first 20 minutes.

Rare - over 100k made
Highly collectible - just can't find elusive buyer too pay for the "collectability" for some reason.
New radiator, water pump, and thermostat - engine block is full of crud, so it still overheats
Been in the family since we were kids - buyer must pay seller's sentimental value fee on top of tractor value
Not sure why won't run, but likely easy fix - the engine is totally worn out.

well folks i agree but sometimes it is the truth. the world may be screwed up but there's a lot of good honest people out there. it's just up to the buyer to figure that out. i find women are the biggest liars.
