Maybe 500 lbs. But I am totally guessing. I have one hanging from an engine stand in the shop. I should go weigh it. But that would include stand. Smile

It would weigh almost the same as the D17 engine.  Basically the same engine.  I don't have a number though.

That is Gleaner ā€œEā€ engine. Weight includes exhaust manifold and rocker cover and engine stand. That stand may be 30 or 40 lbs?? My first guess was pretty close. So engine weight about 500 or just under.

Interesting how people will ask a question but do not seem to be interested in the answer.

My question is what kind of a race car do you have or did you have. Those scales look identical to the set I have.

Was involved in racing most of my life. Did not drive just did the work for several of my friends. Lol. Now in my old age did a bit of autocross with my 70 Camaro that I have owned since 1971. My son loves to get out in the car as well. May buy an old race car because the Camaro is getting too valuable to track. Would hate to damage it!! Smile
Scales are Longacre as you probably noticed. Used them lots - we always had a well setup and fast car!

I got into dirt track racing 25 years ago. A couple close neighbors had cars so we went many saturday nites to watch. Seemed like something I needed to try. We built my first car my sophomore year of high school. It was just a 4 cylinder. A couple years later we bought a late model. Did that for about 20 years. As I got married and the kids came to be it was time to stop.
