Ted J :
I kind of wonder as just finding a dentist to take Delta Dental for Medicare in this area wasa chore , Then they paid about 1/2 of the total cost as it seems the extraction cost per tooth was high . Now as everything is suppose to be going to a shape with no swelling and final positioning of old gum line .
The fact I need to glue the dang plate in , ya that ticks me off . The fact by the time I wear the dang thing most of the day it's loose at bedtime .
That is the part where wife kept them in and she only complained she could not eat malts with small seeds as ended up under plates . She had 2 sets throughout her lifetime but had to have them refit a couple times as some point became a sore spot .
Have not had that problem but trying to bite off something with back teeth rather than front is a real problem .

Gal that set up my current Upper denture made certain I understood this one is a Temporary.  Was molded for while Old teeth were still there, the next 10 months will be the settling in with this plate as a Healing time denture where will get Second Mold and a New Permanent Denture at that time.  All of mine was paid for Up Front including second plate.

Total was $6400 if paid as went, $5400 Paid In Full up front.  I had no insurance for this.

Coke, how many teeth do you have on the lower arch? Sounds more like a bite issue than a fit issue

My temp plate does that, dental tech determined Palate height too tall and gum trough being uneven to gums but is typical of temp denture molded with original teeth still in place.  Said the Liner will help that Somewhat, but will require adhesive too until can remold in a year for the actual permanent plate.

Update, still no necessity for Dentugrip stuff, close dimensionally palate to denture holds a reasonably tight lock.  Managed to 'Bite' away pieces of a burrito I made from leftover Mex and soft shells, can easily eat some foods where are a few still a challenge.  Latest visit to Dental office and all is healing well,  only been just over a month since placed.

dr P : have mostly full bottom set - bridge on both sides on molars .
I was unlucky in had 4 first teeth 2 top 2 bottom I never got and them 1st teeth failed around 22 years of age /
Dentist sent me to a specialist and his idea was to remove bridges and supporting teeth and get a lower plate also, or a partial  - NO THANKS will work with what I have for now.
Reason on upper was 2 bridges there - supporting teeth gave out after being 60 years since bridge was placed over teeth . Then K nine teeth ended up with a infection - Dentist said antibiotic would not work and extraction was only way .

Sounds like finding the right size can be tricky. I'd take one of the old ones to match it up properly. A little grinding shouldn't hurt if it's just a minor fit issue.

Permanent Plate been in Since November, fits better than previous and not needing liners so far. Can still Roll It Off when chew something tough or pull it away with something Sticky but is working extremely well for me. CoWorker got his temp upper, then got ill and the plate fit changed, has been back to his doc where they plan a Liner in a few weeks and then he has all lowers pulled, pins installed and a temp plate set there. Frustrates him some but is feeling better of it as time goes by.

Is defined a Learning Curve for general eating but quite manageable for myself.
