thanks for your responses guys, the clutch was a mess from excess oil so i replaced rear main and wanted to do wick in the crank, question is how do you talk that thing back in there? thanks for all your help.

most use a sealed bearing and just put a pipe plug in instead of the wick, lot more modern fix and it works better.

If I read the post correctly, the engine is the CE engine in a model C Allis. Worn out wicks, or wicks not properly installed have resulted in many oil soaked clutches and/or oil puddles on the garage floor. I now do what Coke recommends. Plug the crank hole and install a sealed bearing. Cost to replace the bushing with the bearing is similar to the cost of a new wick.

Do they make a bearing to replace bushing in a C. Or do you have to have the hole resized to accept the bearing, doesn't look like enough room for a bearing in a C like the
WD has.

Yeah, give us some tips on how to do this. I walked into the shop last night and noticed that my C had "marked her territory" under the bellhousing. Not sure yet if it's coming from the rear seal or running down from behind the oil filter housing. Bet it's both. The more I run her, the more leaks she comes up with.

Tom ,I use the oil lite polit bushing out of a A Farmall and just use a small freeze plug to plug crank.
