Can any 200 guys tell me if their 200 battery box is completely enclosed around the batteries? I'm in the process of rebuilding mine and when I bought the tractor I noticed there was no back panel facing the rear axle. When I had my 220 it was completely enclosed. Just seems funny not to have it enclosed as to keep dirt etc. out. Otherwise I'll weld one in. Thanks.

yep no rear cover on either one of my 200's, the 1/4' j bolt it the only thing keeping the battery secure

Interesting, Thanks for the info. Probably just another AC cost saving measure. Between the battery corrosion and the dirt and age that's probably why the bottom of the box looked like a screen. Mine didn't come with either of the J bolts or the so called retainer but that's not a big problem Thanks again. Larry

AC 200 s/n 95xx, w/Factory cab, the battery box is open at rear, the front bolts on.
I've owned it since about 1980.

Open design also allows venting of the corrosive gasses created during battery charging.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |
