Which Carco winch fits on a mid 60s AC HD-6? Will be looking for one in the Pacific Northwest in the next year or so.

Have a HD6G with a Carco on it. I'm too far I'm sure (Ontario Canada) but it is available.

Right now it would be nice to find one next summer.. maybe. It is a definite thing I want to put on the one I am buying once I have it and deal with some other projects.

I found an E24 locally. They want $900 for it off a IH TD-9. No cable but it has all the control levers etc. Can anyone tell me about the E24? It looks a bit rough. I was thinking of offering less for it. I don't likely have a lot of big winching to do, some decent sized alder and maybe the occasional bigger fir. I haven't bought it yet. Want to know it is will work for what I need.

E24 is ok; BUT drive shafts are different HD6 to TD9; so do some carefull checking of pto splines and driveshaft lengths.
Am 'told' driveshaft will fit but winch needs spacing back, or shaft needs modifying. Stud patterns are same for TD9 and HD6. The drum disconnect on a E24 can be weak; make sure they are fully engagaged if you have used the freespool. Other than that they are a good winch.
