depends on the noise , clunk, whine, growl, bang, or?
Hard to hear noises above the track and sprocket noise - frequency of sound - like a feel of a broken final tooth or a hydraulic pump whine ?

By the 10C and 1984 I'm presuming that this is of Fiat origin, not AC?

If so we have an earlier (well used) 10 and the only noise I get is straight cut gear whine and probably mostly from the transmission.

I'd be sus of anything else.
