Hi I know there is a topic on this, I didn't want to hijack. I am building a wd45 with a 262 gas 6 banger out of a combine. My dad built one back in the 70s out of a wd45 diesel. I used a gas 4 banger anyway my question is why doesn't more people do this? Is it because it not the original engine?

most antique pulling associations don't allow this combination, at least in a "stock" class.

With the 4 banger you can bore and stroke to 400 cubes or more......that 6 cylinder ain't possible to get that big.

I think there would also be an issue with weight on the 6 compared to the 4.

No such thing as a dumb question if there was I'd feel like a idiot all of the time lol. I must say I would have thought the 6 cylinder would go bigger if bored and stroked. Learn something new everyday

Yep no idea one could go that big, course bet you have to have a really big check book. I very low budget tractor, see how it goes, I think I mite want to start saving for a big bore kit. And go back to a 4 popper.
