I just had a guy stop to ask advice on an AC 442 baler. It seems that I am the "AC guy" in the area and they think I know something about AC equipment. (Boy, are they wrong!)

It's been over 25 years since I touched a square baler and longer since I had a 443 and Dad had a 444. I had a JD 336 for several years before I sold the cows. An uncle had a 442 and I know it was quite a bit different than the 443 or 444.

Anyway, he has a 442 baler that needs to be timed. Does anyone have step-by-step directions, or can they send me the instructions from an owner's manual?

Tell the guy to get himself an operators manual. 
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

I timed mine last year, but I'll be danged if I can remember the specifics. Wasn't that hard nor that different than my NH if I remember right. I know the feeder fork timing is also critical to not make banana bales. If I remember tonight, I'll look at my manual and reply back.

E-bay usually has lots of manuals available.  That's where I get all of mine.
