I have a d17 series 4 gas. It currently has 16.9 tires on it and I figured that it sat on 15in rims then but when I ordered one it was wider than the ones on it and I did some looking and someone told me that there was an option for 14” rims but I don’t believe that and I think the current rims are 13 after looking at it some more, was it common to have these tires on 13” rims? Also was there ever a 14” rim

I think the 16.9 x 28's would look good with 15" rims. I have my 14.9's on 13" rims and they work well on my WD45. Originals were 12inch.

The D-17 (by series 4 for sure) was always a 13 inch wide rim except if you ordered the optional 18.4 x 28's on a later model and they were 15 inch I think.

They do! Most 16.9 tires have, "On 15" rim" on the sidewall. However, Allis put thousands of them on 13" rims. I have five sets of 16.9's, six if you count a set of duals I've never mounted. One set of 28's on 15" rims I built from blanks. Three sets of 28's on 13" rims and one set of 38's on 14" rims. I do like the wider rims but the 13's work just fine. Both 45's have 16.9 Firestone Field and Road on them and do not want for traction!
