Wasp nest inside the control compartment of 190 XT

   We have a series 3 XT with a 500 loader on it. It does not get used a lot during the summer months. Got on it this morning to unload a piece of equipment, as I pulled the lever back to raise the loader off the ground I got nailed twice with wasp. Went and got two cans of ether, came at them from the back of the tractor with a stream going into the traction booster slots and another aimed at the three hydraulic control levers as they came flying out. There must have been at least 20 that had a bad day. So everyone be aware them little boogers can be hiding just about anywhere.

	Those blasted things build nests in the strangest places sometimes. Years ago Dad said he had read somewhere that wasp stings would relieve arthritis. He intentionally let himself be stung a couple times. Darned if I remember his evaluation though. Don't remember his telling about ever doing it again so maybe wasn't effective. Suppose the stings would get your mind off the arthritis discomfort for a while.

	Yeah, late summer seems they are more prevalent. One nest is inside the cowl opening on a IHC 1600 grain truck I've been trying to revive. And here I am working on the engine. Another was under a side rail of the forage wagon I was remounting a tire and rim. My brother got nailed in the back of the head. He forgot about the joint pain in his knees for a while. I don't think he's going back for seconds tho.

	They’re the worst! I was stung on the tip of my nose 30 years ago and the scar is still there. Unbelievable from a wasp sting!

	. That is medicinal BEE stings, not wasps Go around your tractor in larger concentric circles looking for huge paper nests in trees. The mega paper nests throw off dozens of young queens that set up mini homes all over in odd places. Soapy water sprayed at them will drown them. .

	My B sits out along side of the Barn tarped over. About 4 years ago, pulled the tarp off, fired her up to let it warm up. When I was ready to roll, I hopped up and started toward the compost pile to push it back with the loader. All of a sudden I'm getting pain in my arms and back. Next thing I know I have a swarm of pissed off Yellow Jackets around me. Hit the key, jumped off and started a runnin' toward the Barn! They had a nest in the finals down in the brake area which obviously I was not aware of. Didn't see any Bees flyin' around all the while I was around the Tractor when I pulled the tarp off, fired her up, and got on it till I put it in gear and started moving. Yikes!! Emptied two cans of Brakekleen in them finals. I ruined their day as well as they ruined mine. Luckily, I'm not allergic to Bee stings. I got even with em' through!! LOL! Brakekleen not only cleans brakes and whatever else you use on it to clean, but it also works great for a Bee Bopper too! Steve@B&B

	I ran over a ground hornet net with the rotary cutter one time. All of a sudden it felt like I was getting hit with a hammer. I realized what it was and jumped clear of the tractor. It ran down into the swamp against a tree and chocked off. Had to leave it all day because they kept trying to sting it
