I bought a nice 5670 FWA with 4 brand new radial Firestones and 2230 hrs. So far so good! Starts and runs great, very minimal leak. Just got done replacing bulbs and fuses to get all lights working.

I noticed that in the 4 sp synchro, it seems 3rd gear barely engages. Guessing synchro wear and shifter linkage slack.

Anyone cracked one of those open?

Think it will be a winter project, collecting info so I'm ready for that project. Just using 1,2,4 for now ;)

Thanks all, great forum!

You can pull plate off the bottom of the trans. and see what exactly is going on before you consider splitting it. We sheared off the input shaft of the shifter and fortunately were able to have it repaired though that panel.
