Good afternoon gents, picked up a wd non running with a late d17 engine transplanted and 13.6x38 tires on it. I am pondering on keeping my current wd at 240 cubes as my grandpa and I built this tractor while I was in grade school.

This would mean this could be a potential candidate to be bored and stoked and my understanding is the later d17 block is better due to oiling and block strength improvements. What I am wondering is what speed does a straight stick wd go with 38 inch tires at stock wd rpm and then what speed at higher rpm. I ask here as I’m sure there are several folks who have put 38s on an allis

WHAT SIZE (width) of 38's ???  what gear and what higher RPM speed ??   Generally a straight stick WD at 1700 RPM with 15.5 x 38's runs down the track at 3.5 MPH.  Different tire brands have slightly different diameters.
