Is an awful LARGE engine to shoehorn into a 220. Best be measuring, A LOT. It DRY weighs 1450 lbs, where even a 5.9L would be tough to squeeze in.
From a marine installer, Engine is 45"x30"x43". Typically holds 3 Gal Oil. 500cu in Edited by DMiller - 31 Mar 2023 at 10:28am |

I'll bet if you put a tape measure on both engines, you'd find they are very close to the same overhaul length, so an installation shouldn't be too tough. My genuine concern is the fact that the peak torque numbers are far greater than the driveline was designed for and if you so choose to use it in the field and weight it down, there could be trouble down the road. I'm thinking 450-475 ft lbs at 1400 RPM was what the 426 developed. Tell me why you wouldn't want to fix the 426 or replace with another 426 engine ??

This is an 8.3 in an 8030. Stock fan and shroud using the Cummins spacer.
