May first - tough day for me

Fifty years ago today, 5/1/68, I got drafted, ended up in Germany and then Greece, not bad duty, considering.  Also got out on May first two years later, thanks to leap year. 
May first 1997 my dad passed while in Ohio, visiting family.  He was within a few miles where he was born 79 years earlier.
I always look forward to May second, figure there is less likely hood of something earthshaking happening...

Funny how we remember certain dates.  For me it was May 16, 1998 when I almost lost my wife in an auto accident on my birthday and then in August I lost my brother on his birthday.  1998 was the pits in my book.

I gots sum bad dates too, but can't remember them! think we all do. sorry you 2 hafta remember them dates...it's gotta suck when upcoming, on, and just after.
