Would be willing to bet the US Military had the majority and either abandoned them overseas or dumped them in the ocean. Any survivors ending up the first loads of scrap headed to rebuild Germany and Japan after the war.

You could try craigslist wanted ads under heavy equipment for sale. I found a u/c for my dozer that way
