    Posted: 15 Jan 2012 at 8:02pm
This afternoon my old A-C dealership tour made a stop in Creighton, Nebraska to visit what once was the ALLIS-CHALMERS dealer in town, Overholt Impelment.  I was told that Overholt Impelment parted ways with ALLIS-CHALMERS before ALLIS-CHALMERS went out of business.  Overholt Impelment was still in business in the early 1990's selling gas and repairing tires and such, but closed up shortly after that.  Today the building is owned by a local man that does small engine repair of lawn mowers and four wheel ATV's.  He also does some auto repair and restoration with some of his buddies in his spare time.  I stopped and talked to the gentleman some this afternoon and while doing so one of his friends brought in on a trailer a 1968 Dodge Charger that restoration was in progress, it is behind the light pole in the first picture.

The current owner said he did several things to the building like remove the double walk in doors up front and closed up the large showroom windows.  He was a pretty nice guy and real easy to talk with.

Just wanted to share.  Thanks.

Great Pictures Doug.

Today I took some pictures of what used to be our local dealer. Galloway Equipment Co. in Old Monroe, Missouri.

I was never at this dealer while they were open as I didn't live in the area yet.  I now know several former employees as well as the owner, Mr.Galloway (super guy.) They had
moved from an old store in town, to this one in the 1970s.  He handled Allis Chalmers and New Idea.  After 1985 he switched to handling White, but continued to handle the Simplicity line into the early 1990's when he closed out. Since then the building had served as home to the local lumber company and now is an offshoot of the Sand and Gravel pit from accross the street.

Here is a pic of one of their dealer decals on my B-12

Matt i talked to some people in Creighton and they told me that the allis chalmers sign hung on the side of the building for a long time after the dealership closed. I think the dorer boys told me they tried to buy the sign but the owner had no interest in selling it.
