Our son Bob bought another Allis saving it from the scrap yard. It is a 1950 WD. It had been sitting in a wood lot for the last 30 yrs. . A neighbor bought it and did some work on it but lost interest. He needed some money and decided to sell it. Here are a few pictures. I'm sure he will be on later to share the story about it. Well that didn't work out to well. I will try more pictures later.

I never saw a snub nosed WD...
I think you would have trouble riding this tractor. The tires are oblong. MORE PICS! What did he have to give for it? NICE find! Original paint I am guessing!! Just leave it alone (paint wise) and get it running well. |

thanks Ted, what did you resize that to? He paid $500 for it and it was running. All we had to do was put the gas tank on and fix the fuel line and start it up. So far it runs good.

Looks good. Ya got the Radiator Flaps and the Cultivator brackets too!!!
cant beat the wd on reliabilty. Steering wheel still looks pretty thick. (thats always a good sign) How is the hand clutch side to side play? Does it hit the fender? is the seat mount pretty snug or does it have allot of slop? Those are the first 3 things i look at with a wd or wd45 kinda lets you know if she has been rode hard and kicked to the curb or taken care of.

Well Guys it looks like I have adopted another member of the family!
![]() ![]() According to the guy I bought it from, it had set in the woods for over 30 years. He bought it from the old lady who owned it, and towed it home. The motor was stuck, and exhaust manifold was shot. He had scapped a bad block from a WC that had good pistons, rods and sleeves. He swapped the WC pistons and honed the cylinders. He had it running but he just ran out of time and money and intrest so to speak. When I first went to look at it, he said if he had any sentimental attachment to it, it wouldnt be for sale. The motor is good and solid. It doesnt smoke when running. I think I have a throw out bearing going bad. Quite the growel when I let the clutch out. The hand clutch doesnt work. the tractor didnt stop when I pushed it forward while moving... not sure im doing it right... does th hand clutch only work when the PTO is engaged? Side to Side movement on the hand clutch is zero. Very solid, doesnt hit the fender. The seat mount is very solid. Hydraulics don't work. I move the lever and the hoses move a little but the rams do not. Brakes work!! The radiator has a small leak on the top, other than that, its a good solid tractor in my opinion. Only thing missing to complete this tractor is the Pto Shaft and the Snap coupler. I will post pictures as soon as i get them uploaded.

Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did...

Sounds like you got an old girl that has not been used to much. The growling could be the issue with the hand clutch. Keep trying to throw it out while you are driving around and see if you can work it loose. Clutch plates might be seized. or something out of adjustment. Hand clutch works regardless if the PTO is on.
Does your Hydraulic system have fluid in it? the fill for the hydraulic system is on the left side of the tractor right along the frame rail below the area of the the fuel shut off valve. It sould have a dipstick that tells you if its low. I think i am thinking correct on that.

Don't be running it with low hydraulic oil. Can ruin cam and rollers.Oil level in trans/rear is suspect also.

Thanks, Bob is going to check and replace all oils and fluids this comming next week. We have to solder the radiator top left (from seat) because one of the hood bolts has rubbed a small hole in it. Where are the clutch plates for the hand clutch? I'm not up on the WDs as much as the WCs. As soon as I get our 42 WC up and running I will post a picture of all three in the yard. Hoping it will be in the next few weeks. Thanks again. Roger.
