My brother has a XT and it has the PTO lever in the floor and one on console. Thw one on console lets you ease into gear and the one on the floor you have to use clutch to enguage. This is only XT I have seen this way. Wondering if tat was the way they were built foe a while anf if many were built that way?? Thanks

Sounds like it has the optional hydraulic PTO clutch.  Basically it is the same as a 190xt without the clutch, but it has a clutch in the PTO driveline so you can engage it on the go, where with the coupler, you had to stop the tractor to engage it, but once you got the PTO engaged, you could stop and go using the PD clutch.

My Dad's 190XT has the same setup though we rarely ever used the console PTO lever. I forget now why Dad always insisted on using the floor lever but he did and anyone else who used it was instructed to do the same. His is an early one with bar grill and sloped fenders I believe 1966 model based on memory.
