I’m in the market for a loader tractor. Everything else I own is Allis Chalmers but I need something hydrostatic for the wife to handle. I’m really liking the look of the kioti CK3510hst with the 4010 loader. I’ve found a new 2017 on the lot I can get for $16,500. Seems like a decent tractor for the money and the 6 year power train warranty is appealing. Anyone have first hand experience with the kioti brand? Thanks.

I don't have any kioti experience but if you have an LS dealer anywhere close by I'd take a look at those. It's a Korean New Holland. We've got a 36hp we've put around 300 hours on and the only thing we've had to do is adjust the clutch safety switch and change the oil

appears to be a user friendly little tractor. does look like it will need to be kept inside out of the elements when not in use. it's close to the right color.

Have a friend that purchased one and then shortly after he was given a three point backhoe attachment which was too big for the tractor. He then traded for the next size bigger one. He is happy with it and I have driven it. I was impressed with it.

LS Tractors is an engineering company. It is a division of LS Cable in South Korea. The group was originally part of the LG conglomeration, and was known as LG Tractors and LG Cable, respectively.

LS is associated with Mitsubishi tractors of Japan for technology, and many tractors are based on Mitsubishi designs, as well as use Mitsubishi engines. New Holland Ag also imports LS tractors to resell as LS-New Holland. (They originally had agreements with Fiat, which purchased New Holland. New Holland is a division of CNH Global).

LS formerly supplied base models for Montana Tractors which were then assembled in North America; and sold under the Montana brand name. This agreement ended when LS decided to begin their own imports and dealer network in 2009.

Kioti Tractor  is the trade name for Daedong tractors in North America and Europe. Daedong Industrial Company, Ltd., which is based in Daegu, South Korea, was founded in 1947,[1] producing its first tractor in 1968. In 1993, Daedong expanded into the US market with Daedong-USA, Inc. and established the Kioti Tractor brand.[2]

Mahindra Tractors -- is an international farm equipment manufacturer of Mahindra & Mahindra.[1] In 2010, Mahindra became the world's highest-selling tractor brand by volume. Mahindra's largest consumer base is in India, China, North America, and a growing market in Australia. I've been around 1 Mahindra. Never been on it, but from what I see they're not a very clean tractor. Meaning there's several things I saw on that particular tractor that were not asthetically pleasing. Could've just been that tractor, I don't know

I've got an LS XJ2025, 25 hp with a loader. It's a nice little machine, paid $14,000 brand new.  Wanted a Kubota but even with a friend as the salesman, was over $2,000 more.  No Kioti dealers within 100 miles.  I have a Kubota 72" mid mount mower I will put on it some time before the grass grows too tall.  Only 18 hr on it so far but I'm quite pleased with it so far, even if it is blue...

Kioti tractors was in with kubota, in the early 80's.  kioti bought the older gear tractor line, from kubota, the partnership ended in a law suit, kinda like the deer/cat partnership.(after Deere was shown how to make a normal 4 cyl engine, they renigged on the rest of the deal, which was to stay outta the construction market...Wink)

I'd heard that some Kubota executives started Kioti to be a lower price version made in Korea, with cheaper manufacturing costs.

They seem to get really good reviews.  You can always find someone that has a complaint about anything but most of those reviews sound like the guy could break just about anything.  I really wanting something easy for the wife to use for feeding / cleaning up from the horses and something for dad to use when he comes over.  At 70 he's having more and more trouble climbing up onto the CA and getting back off.  It would be nice to have something easy to get on and off.  To me it looks like the 35hp should do everything I do with the CA but have a loader so do it faster and easier.  If i'm going to spend money on a loader tractor it will cost more but has a warranty for some piece of mind and hopefully won't have to work on it more that regular service for quite a while.

Shameless, there’s a low trans tunnel maybe 2-3” high. There’s an option for a molded rubber mat for the platform everyone seems to like a lot. I’m looking at the hydro so it doesn’t matter but the manual trans version has the shifter over by the left fender instead of on the hump like a Kubota.

Dave, I keep meaning to order the step for it one of the forum members sells. Dad’s kind of heavyset and he’s having more trouble shuffling around the steering wheel and getting back up off the springy seat on the CA. The CA’s not going anywhere it too handy of a tractor. The kioti’s just got a little better ergonomics.

A friend of mine has converted a few C's and CA's to easy to get on tractors.  They look a lot like a D series.  I've considered doing one of mine but have plenty of projects that need to be finished first.

Ran across this, in an old file...

Kiotis logo

Kioti's logo

The web is littered with Kubota versus Kioti discussions where various owners hem and haw trying to weigh the benefits and advantages of each. This post is going to step back from the fray and instead provide a bit of Kioti’s history and how it relates to Kubota because the two companies do have some history together.

An Overview
Kioti is manufactured by Daedong, a South Korean company that has been in the tractor business for about 60 years. Kioti is actually only used for their North American equipment, everywhere else, like nearby Australia for instance, they are known simply as a Daedong tractor. Daedong launched its Kioti lineup in 1986 but it was not until the early 1990s that they started to make headway in the North American market and become recognized in any serious numbers. Today there are more than 250+ Kioti dealerships in Canada and the United States compared to Kubota’s 1000+. Like Kubota they perform the majority of manufacturing in their home country and then perform final assembly and warehousing in one of three major centers: California, Texas and North Carolina.

In the Early Days
In the early 1980s Kubota from Japan and Daedong from Korea teamed up to build what is known as the Kubota “02″ series of tractors, namely the L1802, L2002, L2402, L2602 and L2802. It was a joint venture with Daedong manufacturing the transmission and Kubota providing its experience with the engine mechanics and other components. Interestingly, Daedong provided the design and fabricated the body sheet metal for these tractors which gives them their own distinctive look – no other Kubota looks like these tractors do. Despite the team effort, the “02″ tractors are still largely Kubotas with exception of their transmissions which means many parts for them are still available today. Production of these tractors lasted from the early 1980s, peaked in 1983 and then tapered off.

The L1802 - a joint venture between Kubota and Daedong

The L1802 - a joint venture between Kubota and Daedong

Lawsuits and Bad Blood
It is no secret that a Kioti tractor, with its orange coloring scheme, similar hood shape and decal lettering look an awful lot like a Kubota. Their names even start with the same letter, K! It seems that just about the only thing Daedong didn’t do was call their tractor a Kiboti. In either case, the bad blood started shortly after their relationship together in the early to mid 1980s. Kubota suspected its partner of stealing engineering secrets and repurposing them for its Daedong’s own gain, a big no-no. The aggression spilled over in late 2002 when Kubota filed a lawsuit against Kioti in a California district court. Kubota felt its trademark coloring and hood designs were being infringed upon and also sought to clear the air regarding confusion between Kubota and Kioti – there were strictly not one in the same.

A Settlement is Reached
The lawsuit dragged on for 5 years until August 2007 when a press release issued by both companies stated that the matter had been resolved – the amount of the settlement undisclosed. It is interesting to note however that Kioti still relies heavily on its orange color scheme much like Kubota and its hood designs and decals also look similar, so one can only speculate on what sort of agreement the two companies came to.

Kioti’s Equipment Lineup
Today, Kioti’s lineup spans the 19 through 90 horsepower range with its impressive new-for-2007 DK90 sitting atop. Not all that long ago Kioti did not have very many hydrostatic/HST models available in its lineup and they still do not have a larger TLB to compete with Kubota’s more commercial grade L39 or L48. And although they do not have as wide of product range (no answer back to Kubota’s mower or RTV models), they do have implement and mower deck support for their existing lineup – not a bad place to be.

Kioti DK90

Kioti DK90

Bottom Line
Arguments abound as to which manufacturer gives you more “bang for your buck”. Some argue that Kubota’s are overpriced compared to a similarly equipped Kioti, others provide anecdotal evidence of higher resale on Kubota’s lineup. Some take a neutral path – go with whichever dealership gives you the best deal or that is closest so you can get parts and service quickly. Kubota? Kioti? What we do know for sure is that as these two manufacturers continue to expand their product lines, the compact utility tractor landscape is going to get a bit more crowded and a lot more orange!

I have a Bobcat CT235, re-badged Kioti, owned it for about 5 years and 250 hours, trouble free. For its size, it's a work horse, I have a loader and backhoe on it that never come off, but the attachments were built by Bobcat in the US to their own standards, supposedly because Bobcat felt that their customer base would expect more of the implements than what the Kioti pieces could deliver. As for the tractor, I love everything except the sounds of cold starting that little diesel, it bangs and knocks like no other, but the dealer says they all do it, and he sold a couple hundred and never had a failure. The agreement ended in 2014, which is when I bought mine, with one remote, best juice in the tires, loader and backhoe, I paid 21 out the door, and haven't felt bad yet. I don't think you will be sorry.

Wasn't it Kioti that was getting changed to green and yellow at one time?  I don't know if they still are.
