Hi. I recently purchased a late 60's(?) AC FTB 30-24. After rebuilding the steering box, it is a really nice running lift. However, only the low transmission gear is working. When I push the shift lever down (Hi) and shift (both forward and reverse), the forklift acts as if it is in neutral. Note that forward and reverse both work great in the low range.
I would like to start looking into this problem, but have not been able to identify the transmission manufacturer & model number. The schematics I have seen have an inching control valve setup on the top. Mine does not appear to have that. On mine, there are 2 connections going into the front of the transmission - one (upper) for Forward/reverse and the other (lower) for High/Low. Some pictures below for your reference... Model: Allis Chalmers FTB 30-24 Type: G Serial #: 64014 Engine: Waukesha fc 133 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -jeff. |
