    Posted: 25 Oct 2011 at 7:21pm
While wandering through my neighbor's woods last weekend, I came across this cultivator. I'd noticed it years back, but hadn't paid much attention to it. A few minutes of inspection led me to believe that it was for a WD or WD45, and looking at my parts manual confirmed it. The pictures are pretty bad since they're from my cell phone, but it is a 4-row cultivator with the shields and gauge wheels.  Some of the linkage pieces are leaning up against it or are wired to it. The hand levers and rear cultivator bar are also there.

I figure I would need to find a few small brackets if I did buy it, but Dad's WD has some cultivator pieces left on it from its glory days.

I'm sure it's been sitting for a good 50 years. I had no idea that my neighbors had at least one AC tractor at some point. We don't always get along the best, but we may be able to find a little common ground with orange. What's a reasonable offer for it?

I paid $35 for my first one 10 years ago and $50 for one 2 years ago. I got a 2 row two years for free plus $90 worth of gas to go get it. They are worth scrap price in the condition you found that one in.

My free cultivator.

JUST WHAT THE H*LL are you doing wandering on your neighbors property!?!?  LOL  Just HAD to throw that in there.  I found one like that this spring and gave $200 for it. Was missing only the Stop Plate (it attaches to the frame of the tractor).

It was probably one of the last really nice days so I went for a good hike. Don't worry, I do have permission to walk/fish on their land. They don't live there and we usually try to give them a heads up if groups of 4-wheelers have been tearing around on their land. It's over 200 acres that runs up next to a lake. There's even a log cabin still mostly standing back there, and a bunch of neat sandstone rock formations.

Thanks for the input guys. Scrap price sounds good to me - plus I have to figure all my labor in cutting down the trees that have grown up around and through the cultivator!

AC Equipment and tractors themselves are a LOT cheaper in states other than Wisconsin.  Makes me wonder WHY I live here!?!?  LOL
