I am working on building a cat1 3pt for my WD from some scrap I got lying around. I am still in the design stage and I can's settle on a few questions. I only plan on using the 3pt for a back blade and possibly a single bottom plow. I also want everything to be removable in an attempt to keep it original. So here are my questions.
1. How far past the tires should I extend my arms. Is there a standard or is it measured by the distance to the PTO shaft? 2. I was considering using chain instead of a side link. Other than being cheap looking, is there any downside to this that I should know of. I plan on using 3/8 inch chain with a 6600lbs working strength. 3. Will the draw bar hanger on the WD support the lift arms? I am planing on bolting my arms to the 5/8 hole in the side of the hanger. So that's what I got rolling around in my head. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian |
