I've got a pretty bad shake on my 530 head. It's on an R62.
Here's what I know:
Stabilizer arm is not broke or cracked.
Tie rod on stabilizer is tight & greased
Wobble box is greased and all bearings are tight.
Just put in a new sickle drive head. (Broke this week)

This head has an SCH cutter system on it.

Am I missing anything? It's driving me nuts.

Thanks
Clay

Mine started to shake one time, found the lockout plate on the variable speed header drive came loose and was speeding the head up while speeding the reel up too.  Most likely not your problem, but would be an easy fix if it was though.  I don't know either how the new reel speed controls work, mine is the old on head pump for the reel.

as stated, check speed, then take off chain to auger to see if that is it, that will leave only wobble box. There is NO allowable play in any part of wobble box - 0 . Worn guards and sections can cause increased load on the drive.
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

What ever caused sickle to break last week is most likely causing the shake. With new sickle, did you readjust hold downs and ware plates? Make sure there is no loose movement between wobble box arm and sickle.   MACK

The last 530 I had was acting the same way, then it also broke the knife head off. After checking everything out and repairing the knife, it still did it. We had put all new sections on it and only been over about 150 acres. After a lot of looking, I noticed the cutting edges of practically all the guards were very dull. I had called myself looking at them when we replaced the sections, guess I didn't have my glasses on. Lol. Put all new guards on it, and cured the problems.

The sickle section point should travel from the point of one guard three inches to the point of the next guard. If it's a double section type sickle (kwik-cut...tiger-jaws, etc) if obviously goes thru double the amount of points but still three inch stroke. If sickle register (time) is off, the sickle head has the threaded ball joint to change for correction of timing stroke.
