Seems like anyone else have nothing but issues with a WD45? Maybe it's the poorly written manuals, but I'm having issues finding which drains are where, where the fill plugs are, I have one fill plug that refuses to come out, one that came out that I can't find a drain for, a drain that I can't find the fill plug for, the oil filter won't come off, and I can't get the 3 point conversion to go on.

I know your frustration....restoring my 8N wasn't exactly easy either...
What I found to be the most helpful is to just take a break for a day or two. Maybe post your questions on the forum. Sometimes it just gets to be too much to take in at one time. Come back a couple days later refreshed and ready to have another go at it!

There are THREE places to fill a WD-45 driveline. All three are on the left side behind the side frame so to speak. The frontmost is a short dipstick that is for the hydraulic pump. Rearward from that about 10 inches is a squareheaded plug for the hand clutch and PTO gears. Rearward from that fill plug another 10 inches and behind the clutch pedal is the transmission/differential fill plug. The hydraulic pump is 5 or 6 quarts of hydraulic oil. THE OTHER TWO PLUGS ARE ABOUT 4 TO 4 1/2 GALLONS AND TAKE 80-90 OIL AND SHARE THE OIL EVEN THO THERE ARE TWO FILL PLUGS. There are sockets made for square headed plugs called 8-point sockets. I don't care how many drain plugs there are.....keep these three full and you are good to go, other than the final drives and steering gearbox.

If they share the same oil, couldn't you just use 1 fill plug, or do you have to pour 2 gallons in one and 2 in the other?

Ok, the fill plug giving me trouble is the one behind the hydraulic plug. So, if I can't remove it, I can just fill the one behind the clutch? This is confusing to me. Also, where's the fill and drain plugs for the clutch? I've also been told that I can use a fluid designed for both hydraulics and transmissions.

I didn't know they shared oil. Then again, I can't figure out why I'm still seeing oil in the rear fill plug when I've pulled the drain plugs.

Drain plug for the PTO is on the bottom of the PTO box. The hand clutch is rearward from that 6 inches and above the PTO shaft. IF YOU CAN GET 4 PLUS GALLONS OF OIL THRU THE FILL PLUG BEHIND THE CLUTCH PEDAL, GO FOR IT. IT WILL TAKE A VERY LONG TIME TO DO SO.

You've missed a drain plug directly above the drawbar and ahead of the rockshaft 10 inches.

I got the one on the pto shaft and the 2 past it. Left them open until they were just dripping. I even stuck my finger in the hole to make sure nothing was obstructing it. Is there a fourth drain?

Here is a pic for you.  It is the rear plug in the pic.  Unfortunately, there is no front plug.  This parts explosion is in error, as the PTO does not sit under the transmission, but further ahead under the torque tube.

Ok, I've noticed the drawings from the manual seem to be confusing and inaccurate.

Oh, on the 3 point conversion, my big issues are that one of the bolts on the drawbar won't come off so I can mount the bracket on there for the lift arms, and the drawbar support has been altered so the sway block won't fit on. Oh to have a plasma cutter and welder. Too bad there's not some way to mount sway chains on the arms.

If you have a plug that wont come out heat up with a torch. Let it cool on its own and then take out. Will come out real easy..

The drain plug the Dr. is talking about by the drawbar is often covered with caked grease and you will most likely need to dig around with a screwdriver to find it, think it takes a 3/8's drive to remove it. The issue with filling both compartments thru one fill hole is the oil needs to find it's way thru the bearing and that will take time. As far as the draw bar bolts you will need some good size wrenches and maybe even a cheater pipe, or else cut them off with a cutting tourch and use new bolts.    I know you are finding some of this work difficult but you are doing the right thing by changing oils. Just be real sure you don't overlook getting oil back into all the gearcases!!   Mark

I put an impact wrench on the drawbar and couldn't budge it. Then again, I don't know if it was getting full power. Might take it to a machine shop.

I'm thinking I might try one of those gator grip sockets on the fill plug.

Ok, what is the section between the engine and the hydraulic reservoir? Does it need to be drained and the fluid changed?

The clutch is between the engine and hydraulic resivior. It is a dry clutch and will not work if you get oil on it. There is however a grease fitting for the throw out bearing fork in there. Lay on you back and look up it may have a cover with two thumb bolts. About 6 inches inside the hole you should see a grease zerk. One or two pumps is all it gets. Put the cover back on if you have it.
