Hello, can anyone tell me if you can fit an 11.2 X 24 BKT tire on a standard B rim without looking ridiculous. The 9.5 x 24 looks a little small and was just wondering if you could go up a size without looking too silly, any ideas would be appreciated.I think these are the two choices I have but would be interested to hear what others have done and the reasoning behind it,thanks for your help,Colin.

It all depends on your definition of ridiculous. I have that set up on three tractors. This being one.

I've got 11.2 X 24 on two of my 'B's.  Look OK to me!

Thank you all for the replies,I thought they may have looked a bit ballooned out on that narrow little rim but looking at the photo you have posted Dick that doesn't appear to be so.Could you also tell me what WIDTH the standard rim for the B is and what size is the rim on the tractor in your photo, thanks for your advice,Colin.

Without measuring it I would guess it was a 8 or 9 inch. It has the same rims that was on it when I bought it. I took the old rotted 9 - 24 tires off in the drive put the new ones on. Never thought to measure them. I'm not much of a worrier when it comes to how something looks if I want to do it.

When the B first came out it was equipped with the - old label - 9" rear tires.  We later upped them to the - old label - 10" tires.  That seemed to work better since the B hp was upped with the CE engine and we were overhauling with the CE engine motor kits making the older B's then became more powerful calling for more traction.
The - old label - 10" inch tires fit the bill perfectly.
Good Luck!

ps:  guess I am showing my age by referring to the - old label - tires.  I think that changed in the 50's

Early B's had either 7" or 8" rims. Early C's had a 8" rim also. Later B's came with the 9" rim as did the later C (after WW11). The standard tire on a 8" rim was 9" and the standard on the 9" rim was a 10" tire. This now relates to 9.5 or 11.2 tires.
Too much tire and not enough weight results in little traction. Bob
