HD parts?

   I have been thinking of maybe looking for a 12g, 11b, 16b or possibly earlier model 11 or 16 for clearing work. What Have people found in the finding parts for these? I come across bigger projects than my 943 makes sense. I love allis chalmers, am i crazy for thinking about looking for one? I cant afford a big cat for 1-2 jobs a year. But i hate turning work to compatition. Theres a real cheap 12g 300 miles from here. Thank

	The 12g is a heavy machine with the hd16 undercarriage but the motor,transmission,final drive,stering cluch are like the 11b and the torke is different.

	With that makeup it sounds like it would be a pretty indestructible machine. Only problem might be having enough trailer to haul it.

	Buying parts for the old Allis is kind of an adventure, and if you're ok with adventure, it works. For me this involves keeping pages of phone numbers, getting to know people in other zip codes and combing wrecking yards for the parts I want. It's amazing what you can find if you know what you are looking for. Not quite the same as just walking into your local dealership, laying down the money and walking away with the parts. Blount Parts in Hoboken GA has wrecked quite a few A-Cs. I've talked to them, but haven't done business yet. Construction Equipment Parts up in NC are a good contact too, they've torn into a few. In general I'd say the 11-B is easier to get parts for than the 16B or 12G, in the undercarriage department for sure, but obviously limited by its size.
