WC steel rear swap questions

Are internal parts interchangable from a 1941 to a steel rear end?
Do I need to buy gaskets, make a gaskets or just use sealer for the final drives? and others to stop leaks? I know some are pricey. paper or cork?

I have to take some things apart anyway and have the steel rear to swap, so why not? I just do not want to be trapped with needing a specific internal part for steel only.

Can I keep my front unit/pinion assy. and just bolt on the steel rear housing?

Are WD45 and WC frame rails the same? I know there may be cultivator bracket holes in the front top.

 Some parts are specific to the stamped steel , check out the agco parts online.....

Larry, I would think the WD45 frame rails and the WC rails are different at least in bolt hole locations as the trannies are different and the flat part that was machined into the WD45 frame rails for the mounting points on the WD and WD45 trannies might not be there on the WC frame rails.  You might get away with using WD/WD45 frame rails on a WC, but not the other way around.  Just pointing out some things that I thought of.  I'm sure someone else will chime in on more.

I think my 45 rails are worse than the WC rails anyway! The 1954 rails are pitted and rusted worse than the 1941 !

Is the WC front pedestal lighter or quicker than the the 45? seems like both.

WC pedestal is lighter, and if I remember right is also a little faster. Kip
