I know that RC gears will slow down a WC but seems like half the people ya talk to say that speed patrol gears will do the same and the other half say they are the same as a WC. Does anybody know for a fact that they are slower or has anybody put one in a WC puller?

The instruction manual for a Speed Patrol shows speeds from 2.5-9 mph and 2 mph in reverse, the exact same as any WC.

Mine is slower that I installed.  It came from a Speed Patrol.  Now, my 2nd is just about the same as 1st gear with a stock WC rear end.  I do not remember the ratio but I am thinking a stock rear is about a 4.4 and this is around a 6.6 and a "picker" ring and pinion option is around 7.2...  I have all this written down someplace at home, but after moving a few years ago it will be a search.

Thanks for your replies I guess the best option would be just to check the gear ratio on one before purchasing it
