bought an allis h4 while back . it is really egg shaped. almost just has three sides. Pulled it off and the support arm is very nice. it still had oil in it. Just wondered what causes it to get shaped like that. thanks norm

If was located in an area that had winter I would say that it was run a lot with the roller packed up with ice and snow. Possibly run a lot with the rollers jambed up with mud?

Mud was going to be my guess. Although, if it is egg/triangle shaped, that's quite a bit of work without the roller turning to cause that much wear!

I think your mud/ice might be correct. it came from Minnesota. since the roller was free then I would believe it got packed with ice/mud. the track has about 4 inches of slop in it. . thanks norm
