I would like to start pulling in a local club here in Nebraska. Not a strong presence of allis in the club. I would like to pull div 1, so that I would have a tractor that I could also use in my haying operation. They tell me they follow NATPA rules and that a D 17 is to new to be in the class. As I see it should be legal as production started in 57. Would you say series III and IV would not be legal? How do the rules get read in your clubs. Is a D17 competitive in div I ?

where abouts in nebreska?  there is a club that runs the Hwy 36 corridor in KS and also travels up to Steele City NE.  I am planning on joining this club in the near future, its called Heartland Pullers.  They use NATPA rules and D17s  are pulled.  Rules state '59 and older. it would have to be a series 1, I believe.  I dont know about your club but most pullers are DIV II or III and very few stock pullers unless a pull is held at a show or festival.

If you want to pull NATPA, just get ahold of the tech man and he will tell you what you need to know.  I know alot of people do not like the national guys, but when I am playing in their sandbox then I play by there rules.  I have fun and go in kowing unless a miracle happens, I am donating my money and pulling for fun.  Glad to hear the 17 is good to go.  I do know the Div 1 has some rules about stock weights, no chrome coils etc,etc

I would think ANY D-17 version would be OK fine. It's the fact that there were D-17's in and before 1959 that counts. Same way with a 460 and 560 Farmall. What difference does it make if they are a 1958 or a 1962 ??
