Anybody got any ideas where to get aftermarket replacement cutting edge for a off brand [Dresser] dozer blade? Broke one of the sections on mine today, thought I would look elsewhere before I called Dresser. Thanks

Any supply house for steel should be able to get you one .
depending on the punching many units are interchangeable as punching can be standard. Look up online for cutting edges - or heavy equipment repair and they can also direct you to some place locally for you

Well, "here" I'd check with CAT first. Even the local municipalities with Deere graders buy their cutting edges at CAT - much cheaper.
Just bought some for our farm tractor (14' blade - 2x7' edges) from CAT. Phoned them with the length, thickness, bolt spacing, bolt size and the parts guy immediately knew which edge it was. CAT came in at $440 for the 2 edges and all the bolts. Dealer was just shy of $750. Andrew Edited by Andrew_D - 06 Aug 2013 at 6:18am |

this is what i did. much cheaper for someone not making a living on their old machine.
cutting bit fix on second thought, if your using your machine hard enough to break the OE bit, I would buy a new one also. Edited by CAL(KS) - 07 Aug 2013 at 2:09pm |

Cal(KS) I've been through replacing cutting edges on our FA 10. Needed a new cutting edge as both sides had been well used. With a Fiat the warning was "Is it 6" bolt spacing or 150mm, as they're NOT the same".
Ours was 6". Probably as a result of a deal with lower import duty if locally manufactured items such as blades were added. So I could use standard cutting edge plates from a Komatterpiller dealer
End bits were not readily available obtainable but I was pointed to "End bit repair sections" (also known here as hockey sticks) in a range of sizes pre-formed to the shape of the lower side of the end bit. You work out which ones have enough material for your job, then you trim and weld on to replace the worn areas.
I'll post some photos, but not this day.
