I need help on guessing how much this weighs. I need to haul it off but I only have a 16 ft. utility trailer with a 5000 pound limit. It's a pain in the butt to tear it apart. Thanks for your help.uploads/6709/IMG_1026.jpg

With what is there it should come about to the weight of your trailer , IF there is no counter weight on that frame. Then to remove the rear casting is only a few more bolts as it looks like mainframe is missing already

right. the rear end is not attached. it is only the 2 skids minus the tracks and the vertical frames on each side. do you think it would be around the 5000 pounds?

To get a better salvage price I would cut away the bolts holding the lift arm pivots and remove the cross bracket, the smaller the pieces the better the money here.

When I'm trying to estimate the weight of something for suitability of transport, I start by looking at the whole machine as segments, then estimate the weight of the segments, and add them all up. The advantage is that not only will you get a closer WAG, you'll also develop an immediate understanding for the machine's center-of-gravity, which helps determine wether it will position properly on the trailer so as to distribute the load safely, have enough weight, and not too much, on the draft vehicle, and not have the CG so high that it causes instability on the road.
