It's not a bad job JC, the old seal, (if it's not been changed already) will have made a groove in the shaft that goes through the main casting.
The kit you should get has a speedy sleeve and two seals with it.
pay close attention to how they go back in, cause in my late WD they show the seals going in back to back,,for some reason, other WD45's it looked to me like, they don't.
Maybe someone on here will know why, I just followed the instructions (something I don't usually do well) and I used a piece of 2" PVC pipe  and a hammer to drive them in with.
The speedy sleeve on the other hand was a tight fit.
I took my shaft to a machine shop a couple of blocks away and had them press it on the shaft,
I've been told you CAN use a propaine torch and carefully heat it so it'll go right on..
here's the kit,

 and how it goes on,,

sleeve pressed on,

seal install,,
and what it will look like when it's done,

 hope this helps ya!

The old original seal in my 45 was one piece with lips facing away from each other. Replacement was 2 seperate seals and instructoins said to place them "back to back" like Larry says. My hyd oil still gets into the transmission.
