Was doing a little grade work with a drag blade behind the 180D yesterday, could smell fuel then saw the dripping from the front seal area, pulled the dipstick and she was overfull by a lot.  I just replaced the injection pump a month ago, been fine til now, guess I did roll the seal and it finally gave up.  Oh well, time to change the oil anyway!

Well, you will have to fix the seal, but more than likely you didn't ruin the engine in any way.  Diesel fuel still has a lubrication factor to it.  We always used to run about a quart of diesel fuel or more as needed in our Perkins power units the night before an oil change.  For some reason a couple would carbon up real bad, and the oil would be too think to drain out, even on really short oil change intervals.

You apparently rolled the fuel side seal upon installation of injection pump. Bummer. Happens quite often. The important one is the tough one to get in too! Good luck, Ed.

I even had the little round pinchers to compress the seal and used STP on it, guess I will have to double check harder this turn, I did not use a mirror to verify last time.  I do have a packing hook(dull tip) this time so if it does try to roll I can nudge it around to flat.

Seems the hard lessons stick harder/longer.

There is a chance you didn't mess up, if the pilot tube spun out.
