Is the engine still in the tractor or already out?

Before I had the correct puller I made one with threaded rod and a piece of flat iron that I stood on end and fitted to the jug . Weld the flat iron to the threaded rod standing on end then cut notches in the end of the flat iron to fit the bottom of the sleave and as wide as the block opening and you have just made a sleave puller. bigger threaded rod like one inch works the best.

4x4 works great if I remember correctly, it was the perfect size and a couple wacks on it and the sleeves popped right out, and this was a tractor that had coolant sealer put in it, so that helped hold them in... I used that while it was in the tractor, but should be something you can do with the engine ou.

I know this wont help now, but it might in the future. I usually leave the engine on the tractor, and use a floor jack and a rod to push them up out of the block.

Here's how I got mine out... A piece of allthread, nuts, heavy square plates, a strong board.

The easiest thing to do is just knock them out with a block of wood. I did make a puller similar to the pics posted but it's just as easy to drive them out.
