I have a 170 and it has been a nice outfit for the time I have owned it. Just lately, the 3 point doesn't want to lower. It comes up fast when I pull the lever back but doesn't do much when I push it forward. It barely goes down and I just wind up putting the thing in float and it still doesn't go down too fast. I have noticed that it seems to be making a hissing noise back by the remote. Have any of you fellows ran into that before?
Thanks

Is it only with nothing attached to the 3 point or also when you have something attached to it. |

If you don't have any weight on the 3pt, that's pretty normal.

I have had that with my D17 IV. The depth and, or traction buster linkage and valves were sticking. Had to use bp blaster and free them up.

Todd I have the same issues, so I just move the depth and tb levers back and forth a few times to the stops, then I lower the lift arm lever and if I stand on it they go down fine. But sometimes I have to as I say move the other 2 levers. Dana

I have a blade on the back and I remember it going down fine the last time it was on. This time it would barely move even when I was on the 3 point.

I also noticed that the thing actually went up very slowly once when I tried to put it down. It used to flop the blade down pretty hard when I dropped it.

The linkage to the traction booster is rusted up and is activating the valve. Some penetrating oil on the linkage helps to free it up. Although I use the more time consuming method of removing the bushing that the actuator pivots on - the bushing needs to be cleaned and soaked in anti seize compound. It will work like new afterwards.
