Gravity fed Farmhand gun was clogged so I ran 1/2 gallon of gas through it to unclog it, just tore it apart to hit the seals with WD40 to keep the gas from rotting them. What can I run through it to rinse everything out without hurting the paint I want to shoot tonight? Water?

Lacquer thinner. I only use lacquer thinner and leave some in the gun inbetween painting days on a project. It evaporates very quickly after the gun is sprayed empty and is not a problem. When I get a gun out I always spray some lacquer thinner thru it before putting paint in the cup.

I always take mine apart and clean everything with thinner and a soft tooth brush. Put it back together and run thinner through it about a minute. After it sets I run thinner through it again before I paint. This system is working good so far. I painted my neighbor's D14 with it and had great results cleaning the gun like this since I didn't paint all the tractor at once. Its just a ole cheapy Trades Pro gravity feed gun from Tractor Supply. It lays down the paint smooth.

I spell it like it sounds and then the spell check(Mozilla Firefox) underlines the misspelled words in red. You right click on the misspelled word and it gives you the choices of properly spelled words. LOL

Even when I buy brake cleaner and carb cleaner at the local WallMart their computer queries about my age.

I always joke with them by saying i am buying the stuff with my social security money.

By the way the advice you got on not putting water in the paint gun is rock solid.  That will make a huge el messo.

I have a Harbor Freight special HVLP that I've been using gas to clean. After I'm done spraying I flush it with gas. Out in the open of course where the mist can't set anything on fire...

Lacquer thinner will cut any paint but latex. Minimum requiremnt is to use the same thinner/gun cleaner as the paint company recommends that you thin the paint with.
You can also buy "gun cleaner" I'm with Dick on cleaning/maintaining my guns. Bob

I'll bet you could get real high on gasoline too, and they will gladly sell that to someone under 18! Amazing some of the laws that are put into place to protect ourselves from ourselves.

Lacquer thinnner will loosen dried latex paint. I put paint thinner in my guns keeps them wet inside and lubed up. Use the thinner that is recommended for your paint! Just my opinion.
