Our track is hard ohio clay, would a lite tractor like the WC be better off with a tall narrow tire like a 12-38 or shorter 14.9-28. I can compensate for the taller tires with gearing so I am not worried about power loss with the taller tires. Most everybody wants 15.5-38s, I think a narrow good bitting tire would do better than a wide tire when you are only 4000 lb but I could be wrong. I pulled a small garden tractor on the same track a few years ago. I ran 6-16 tires while others ran 10.5-12, I could out pull the some of the guys running the wide tires. My tires barely tore up the track and they hooked good, that is why I am wondering if it will work on the allis. What are some of your experiences? What do you suggest? Thanks, JM

We put 12.4x38 on dads D15 Series II, and he took 1st place today out of 11 tractors. It would always spinout with the 14.9x28 on it. It pulls in the 3500 ib class. We have a set of 13.6x38 on the D17 at 4500 lbs. We have not been able to test it much, trying to get the govenor dialed in first.
