Thanks to the help of my Father in-law and my girls (they are good little wet sanders) we finally got my tractor finished, so I thought I would put up a few pics of her. It is a 1951 WD. It took what seemed like forever to finish, but was alot of fun, and I learned a lot for the next one.

Now, that's a beautiful tractor!
How did you get the sheetmetal so straight and purdy? Did you use body putty?

Looks nice! I have a picture like that of my 2 oldest girls in front of my newly painted WD45, except it was 20 years ago. They will be 25 and 27 years old in a few weeks. Time flies! They are looking/doing real well , but the old Allis needs a facelift/makeover again! Thanks for the photo.
sometimes I walk out to my shop and look around and think "Who's the idiot that owns this place?"

It is just single stage impliment paint from Tracter Supply I don't remember the brand but I can check if you want. The shine comes from the last coat and I'm still learning. The color had to be lightend some to get it just right.

Thanks Goose,
Yes I had to use some putty, and many hours of sanding. The sheet metal was a little rough and I welded in a few patches and hammered out a lot of dents.

Thanks Jay. I'm learning that time does go by fast, it seems like they were born yesterday. They helped me do a lot of sanding, and it was a fun project to do together.

Nice Job! Another of my hobbies is restoring muscle cars and I swear it is easier to paint a complete car than a tractor.  Keep those pics safe.........you'll enjoy them more in a few years.  :)
Why is there never time to do it right the first time, but always time to go back and fix it?

I have done a couple trucks and a Jeep but there are a lot of nooks and crannies to paint on a tractor. I do like muscle cars too and would like to restore one some day. I would love to see some of the ones you have done, send me a PM if you get a chance.
