Having problems with my PTO. I bush hogged yesterday everything was fine. When I disengaged the pto and put the pto brake on, it did not work. I re-engaged the pto and it acts like it is in the nuetral pos. It will gradually spin up to engine rpm but will not hold a load and has no positive engagement. The linkage is moving the piston in and out on the valve correctly. While trouble shooting, I put pto in brake position, shove throttle up and the brake came on once. I engaged the pto once, acted right and now not working again. Any help would be appreciated....Jim

Drop the PTO box down and take the clutch apart.

You might want to take the PTO valve apart and clean it.Exploded view on AGCO parts.com.If any of the spools inside are sticking, you will have intermitent pressure readings. Is the power director and power steering working correctly?

Power steering good. Power director, it would creep pretty bad in lower gears while in nuetral, have step on brakes hard. Now it will kill the tractor in higher gears, high/low works, works nuetral does not.

Think I've got it figured out. Started tractor idled it way down, put pto in brake pos, started tapping pto control valve with a hammer. About the 4th tap and the brake locked. Put control in engage at idle started tapping pto engaged. Did this routine a couple more times, same results. I will remove and clean the valve. Thanks for the help...Jim
