I need to retrieve dead hd7 loader asume it will roll. how big of a winch will I need. Will a 15000lb work with a snatch; block I have a 50000 lb pintal hitch trailer. any other ideas on how to get home.

As long as it will roll it won't take much to winch it on a trailer. 15K w/snatch block would be plenty.....I doubt you would need the snatch block. If the tracks won'r roll all bets are off

I loaded a HD5 onto my trailer using 3 , 1 Ton come alongs . 2 were mine and the guy I bought it from has a Harbor Freight unit, his ended up breaking and had to finish loading with my to CM pullers ..
If it rolls no problem, another one i bought ended up loading into rubbish box (rolloff box) using the cable from truck to pull it into box. Unloading was easy , open door and let it roll out as box was tipped once back of box was on the ground.

I bought a 1942 Cat R4 that had sat for years and its tracks were really rusty and stiff. I used a mix of diesel fuel and old engine oil to spray the links and most all the under carriage. Used a cheap 1 gal . garden sprayer. Sure helped it move easier.
