Finally stirred some dirt with my D 15 today. It ran well. Did find the discs on one gang are turning independently. Guess I'll have to pull that axle and get it built up and square? Since the damage is already done, it can run as is a while. Always something. Thanks

They need to be tight. Square has nothing to do with it really. I have 9 inch spaced primary tillage offsets one IH one JD both have round axles. I a Harbor Freight cheapy end wrench to bind against the frame on one end and 3/4 ratchet and 3 or 4 feet of pipe. Then I switch to a breaker bar and six or 7 feet of pipe for several more turns. And sometimes that will loosen up after a day bouncing over rock ledges, and need another round of tightening.

Of course taking it all apart and wire brushing blades and spacer faces, so no rust helps keep things tight too.

Worst thing about running loose is the wear on the spools. I got some on a 200 series disc that PO ran loose. They are tight now but wobble about so much.

Keep then as tight as you can! If you have a really gib 3/4 or 1" impact, that works really well to tighten them

Thanks Dave
Don't have an impact wrench but I do have a 3/4 pull handle and a 4' pipe. That should work.

Don't just tighten once !! Tighten several times until they stay tight.
