Anyone have experience with a&i spindles on 7-8000 front axles? Have an 8070 that they are very worn on. Put bushings in 10? yrs ago and they were almost wore through. The spindles are badly worn and would like to get things back in shape. Worried about quality of China spindles.

If the worst wear is on the top spindle bushing area?? I wouldn't be one bit scared to have it welded up and machined down to proper size. I wouldn't think about doing that on the lower bushing area, as that's where it would break if it ever did.

Both about the same as i remember. Don't know if short welds and long cooling period would be ok on the lower part. Mack once said he'd welded and turned some and did ok. I did that to my 220 many year ago and so far so good.

I bought a 7040 that had that issue, previous owners obviously couldn’t afford a grease gun,i welded up the spindles top and bottom. New bushes been fine for 10 years working.

I used a set of A&I spindles on my 7050 years ago and have not had any trouble with them.

We use A & I on some parts, and I will say we have been satisfied with the quality. Having said that an 8070 knee and a 7020 are the same part but very different application.
