When I pull the 7080's fuel injection pump off to have it rebuilt.  How do I time it when it comes back?

With a flat blade screwdriver, remove the small rectangular timing window on the side of the injection pump. Several ounces of fuel will escape. Turn the engine over until it is at 22 degrees BTDC. At that time TWO timing marks should be aligned. If not turn it one full turn more and there will be two timing marks. Line these up. Remove the pump. Have it repaired and reinstall it the same at 22 degrees BTDC.

Make sure you're on compression stroke on # one and turn till the lines inside the window are inline. At this point your degrees advance on the balancer should be aligned with pointer. DON"T ROTATE ENGINE WHILE PUMP IS OFF!!!! You should be able to put rebuilt pump on with timing window lines lined up and be really close  to correct timing. Should always check it by backing crank up 45 degrees then fwd till degrees advance and timing window marks jive. Adjust if off. Doc types faster than me. Do as he says.
