Have been getting some time in the furrow with my D19 Gas pulling a series 70 SC set on 5-14"s. Tractor was overhauled from the bell housing froward this past spring. It was handling the plow real well imho from the getgo. Plow was not scoured and hadnt turned a furrow in a long time. Tractor ran fine plowing in third gear making 6 passes about 100 yards long. Got dark and put it back in the shed. 2 days later, resumed plowing in a different field making passes about 1/8 mile long each. after 2 rounds tractor starts to sound like the governor was causing a surge in rpm at WOT. Got out the service manual and tried to adjust out the rpm surge per instructions. Set low and high rpm's and then turned in the anti-surge screw till I raised the high idle to 2300. Went back to the field and made another pass, but the adjustment I made did not help much at all, tractor still experienced high/low engine rpm's. Hopefully the video will load. Any advice is appreciated!uploads/24926/IMG_0592.jpeg

I was thinking as I read that it sounds like a fuel mixture problem as it was fine just the day before.

I would agree with the carburetor/fuel mixture possibility. The engine has to perform perfectly for the governor to work properly. Just open the main just a couple of turns and that should give you a clue as to whether that is causing your surging or not. Now as far as governor surging problems on a D-19 gas engine ?? Yeah. They are pretty notorious for that. For myself, I have always avoided using that surge screw as much as possible. My reasons for that are (just like a D-15) using the surge screw makes the governor very "dead" in the slower RPM ranges. I've always gotten by just fine by being patient (really patient with the D-19) and shortening the link rod from the governor cross arm and the carburetor a couple of turns at a time until the surge subsided. Good luck. You'll get it.
